Between Mountains and Sea: Building with the Water Cycle

山海之间:与水循环共建
Urban Futures

Shenzhen, emerging from its coastal origins, is a city where the mountains meet the sea. This project focuses on designing an urban complex in the Qianhai district, exploring how urban form can mediate human interactions with nature. Emphasizing hydrological and ecological factors, the design ensures continuity of water cycles and ecological pathways. A woven spatial layout establishes ecological connections among buildings, mountains, and the sea, fostering a symbiotic relationship between urban development and the natural environment while promoting sustainable growth and ecological balance.
