Probiotic Façade Systems
Cross Laminated Bamboo (CLB) and Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) are sustainable building materials with load-bearing and strength comparable to traditional materials like reinforced concrete. They excel in carbon and thermal performance, offering numerous sustainability benefits. As eco-facades, CLB and CLT reduce carbon footprints and support façade planting, promoting biodiversity and sustainable urban development. This project integrates CLB in façades as a retrofit option for large glass curtain walls, cutting energy use and carbon emissions while fostering biodiverse microbiomes to enhance urban health and well-being.

交叉层压竹材(CLB)和木材(CLT)作为可持续建筑材料,具有与传统材料相当的强度和承载力,并在碳性能和热性能上表现优越。作为生态立面,CLB和CLT不仅能减少建筑碳足迹,还支持立面种植,促进城市生物多样性和可持续发展。本项目通过设计CLB等材料立面,改造大面积玻璃幕墙,降低能耗和碳排放,同时支持多样微生物群落,提升城市居民健康。
